Liquid ring packages
L-SV Circuit Pumps
For consistent operation, liquid ring pumps require a constant supply of operating liquid, which exits the unit with the conveyed gas on the discharge side. To reduce or eliminate the need for a continuous supply of fresh liquid, we have developed standardized circuit units.
L-BL2
Also called the “Pump in a Box,” these portable units are oil-free and air-cooled. They feature an L-BV liquid ring pump, industrial electric motor, discharge separator, seal water cooler, and discharge air cooler. Installation is simple—just connect the suction line and motor, fill the water tank, and the unit is ready for use! With contact-free compression and an integrated discharge air cooler, maintenance and wear are kept to a minimum. Additional benefits include quiet operation, continuous duty design, and suitability for humid environments.
L-BL2 Frame-Mounted Units
These units combine L-BL2 liquid ring pumps with G-BH1 side channel blowers (or vacuum pumps using a different operating principle) mounted on a frame. The blower can function at a fixed speed or variable speed via a frequency converter, significantly boosting pump performance in the 40 to 150 mbar range. Water loss is minimized by collecting condensate from the exhaust, meaning many applications require little or no additional water after startup.
L-BL2 Split Design
For handling very high air volumes, L-BL2 pumps are disassembled into individual components, with tubing, valves, and other accessories added before the unit is reassembled on a steel plate. This split design is ideal for applications involving aggressive suction materials, such as those in the food and beverage industry, and is available in full stainless-steel versions. We also offer models suitable for integration into CIP cleaning processes, with air-to-water or plate heat exchangers available.
Operating Principle
The patented discharge air cooling system in the L-BL2 operates without requiring additional energy. Unlike traditional closed-circuit systems using liquid ring vacuum pumps, the L-BV pump (1) cools the warm, vapor-saturated discharge air after it passes through the water separator (2) by using a discharge air cooler (3). This process lowers the temperature below room temperature, causing water vapor to condense and return to the operating liquid. As a result, the L-BL2 vacuum pumps can function without the need for a constant supply of make-up water. Additionally, an air-water cooler (4) cools the circulating water to 7 K below ambient temperature before returning it to the pump.
