Technical Gases and High Pressure

Expertly engineered in Germany, the Sauer line of piston compressors is crafted by specialists at J.P. Sauer & Sohn Maschinenbau GmbH in Kiel. These high-performance, oil-lubricated compressors are designed to handle pressures up to 500 barg and are built for continuous operation. They feature reciprocating designs that can compress in up to five stages, with configurations including up to six cylinders arranged in star, V, or W formations. Ideal for both atmospheric suction pressure operations and as gas-tight boosters with pre-pressures up to 25 barg, these compressors offer versatile and reliable performance.

5000 series

Pressure: 150 – 400 barg
Volume Flow: 50 – 140 m³/h
Rated Power: 20 – 75 kW
Media: Air, Nitrogen

The SAUER 5000 series features 4-stage water-cooled high-pressure compressors known for their exceptional reliability and minimal noise and vibration. With a vertical crankshaft design, these compressors are compact, easy to maintain, and offer complete balancing of inertial forces.

Key features include:

  • Vertical construction ensuring full compensation of inertial forces and nearly zero vibration.
  • Replaceable cooler inserts in a suspended configuration.
  • Low piston speed to further reduce noise and vibration levels.
  • Dry liners, eliminating seals between oil, water, and air sections.
  • Rigid, heavy-duty flange connection between the motor and compressor.

Each compressor undergoes a final pressure check and includes a 3.1 inspection certificate. They also offer long operating life with guaranteed spare parts availability for at least 25 years.
