Nitrogen: Why buy it, Make it!
Compressed air from a dedicated air compressor at 10barg enters an Air Pre-treatment Package which comprises of a desiccant air dryer with pre and final filters which removes oil, moisture and particulate from the air. The clean, dry air then passes to the inlet of the nitrogen generator.
The air enters the bottom of the on-line adsorption bed. Oxygen, CO2 and other trace gases are adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieve, allowing nitrogen to pass through to the product buffer.
After a pre-set time, when the on-line bed is almost saturated with adsorbed gases, the system automatically switches the bed to regeneration mode, whilst the 2nd previously regenerating bed comes on-line.
The system operates continuously, automatically switching between beds to ensure a constant flow of nitrogen gas. The purity of the nitrogen is monitored to ensure only gas of the required purity reaches the application.
